This week has just flown by! Steven Wells, our drywall/ceiling/finish texture expert has been busy working on all the ceilings in the house. There had been some damage from Hurricane Ivan left undone.
Steve Rouse, from Cleveland, TN, has been down all week working both inside and outside of the house. The electrical from the old hot tub was disconnected. The new pocket door to the second bathroom was placed, and the entire tiled sink and cabinet was taken out of the second “blue” bathroom as well by Steve Rouse!
What great workers for the Vineyard!
We have so enjoyed having Steve R’s company too.
All of us pitched in and totally cleared all the brush away from the house too. Dennis tonight cut down the old fencing along the 12th Avenue side of the yard beside the hot tub also. Every little bit done is looking so good!
We just have to see what next week brings!!!
Love, Always in His Name!
It was a wonderful week working on the Martha’s Vineyard house. Really I only got to work three days as travel ate up the other two days. We got a lot done but there is more to do. Please volunteer your time and if not your time then we could use some money. During my time I understood what MArty has been saying about location location as it really close to the Hospitals and easy to find. It is even a corner lot and house so you can see it from the 12th Avenue (Main Drag). It is going to mean so much to the families that find a place of rest while loved ones are in the hospital. May God Bless this project as he already has… Steve
So glad you have Steve to help and many others. Glad this project is going so well. A much needed house. Sorry I didn’t get any pictures but just glad to hear things are progressing so well.
Thanks for your support your comments and your prayers. I was told over 100 volunteers have donated time n money to the project. It will serve many families in the future.
Marty and Dennis, I don’t even know where to begin. You two have been a blessing to me and my family. For you to open you home to me and my brother when our dad was in critical care at Sacred Heart Hospital was something I never dreamed of happening. We drove down to be with him, being that he had coded a couple of nights prior to our arrival, and were just going to figure out what to do about a place to stay once we got there. Our main concern was our dad, and him having his children with him during one of the most critical times in his life. We never dreamed we would be given a place to stay that was not only so beautiful but so full of love too. We were so thankful for the roof over our heads and didn’t expect anything more. With all that considered, and for those people that haven’t had the priviledge of meeting you two, I have to say you gave more than a roof, you gave of yourselves unconditionally. You gave shelter, food, warmth, comfort and love. All of which we are very thankful for and will never forget. I truly believe you only want to help, comfort, and bless others. Your selflessness abounds and is a shining example for all to see. I think of you two when I hear this verse, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ and THAT my friend is music to the ears! Thanks again for what youhave done for me and for what you will do for many, many others to come. May peace and love abound you always!
